While it is estimated that there are about 3000
medicinal plants in Indonesia that have pharmacological
benefits, only about 450 are currently used in
the preparation of Jamu.
In recent years, there has been a sharp demand
in traditional Jamu which results in an increase
in the number of companies producing jamu, both
home industries as well as modern factories. While
traditionally the raw materials such as roots
and barks can be collected from the wild, increasing
demand warranted the establishment of commercial
plantation to protect the natural resources.
Traditional jamu is prepared as home-made brew,
kept in bottles. Modern jamu are prepared in modern
pharmaceutical grade production facilities and
are available in the form of powder, pills, capsules,
liquid and ointment.
The Indofarma production facilities in
Cibitung are equipped with technologically advanced
equipment and machines, tested formulae and a
team of professional and, experienced scientists.
Together, they deliver the finest quality drugs.
By implementing a strict rule under GMP standard,
each step of production process will be prevented
from cross contamination and other factors to
avoid any deterioration to product quality.
